OUR CLIENT’S BRIEF
A confidential financial services client was looking to host an exclusive fund closing celebration in New York City, designed to reward key stakeholders and mark a significant milestone. The evening needed to feel intimate yet high-impact, blending elevated hospitality with a sense of surprise and discovery.
The goal was to move beyond a traditional seated dinner and instead create a dynamic, multi-layered experience that encouraged interaction, entertainment, and seamless flow throughout the night.
THE SHACKMAN PROPOSAL
Under the direction of our in-house Creative Director, we conceptualized an immersive, multi-act evening inspired by European cabaret and vintage nightlife, transforming a landmark Brooklyn venue known for its grand circular layout, soaring domed ceilings, and ornate historic detailing into a fully programmed environment that evolved over time.
The architecture itself became a central design element. The venue’s dramatic rotunda allowed multiple moments to unfold simultaneously, while its distinct levels and hidden spaces created a natural progression from one phase of the evening to the next.
Guests were welcomed into a lively reception featuring interactive performers, stylized service elements, and curated culinary moments. The evening transitioned into a lounge-style dinner beneath the venue’s iconic dome, before moving into a speakeasy-inspired lower level where the energy shifted, featuring a live jazz band, full dance floor, cocktail stations, curated desserts, and interactive gaming elements.
Key elements included:
- A fully integrated entertainment program featuring aerialists, live musicians, dancers, and roaming performers layered throughout the evening
- A non-traditional and immersive dining format with roaming stations and interactive food experiences designed to encourage movement and connection
- A dramatic spatial transition from reception to dinner to after party, each with its own distinct tone
With our team in charge of the Run of Show, the entire evening was designed as a journey, with carefully timed transitions and theatrical moments guiding guests from one experience to the next.
THE RESULT
In an unexpected setting, we brought a vibrant, whimsical world to life, where every detail was considered, and each touchpoint reflected the level of luxury the client envisioned. With the client’s full trust, we shaped an atmosphere that felt imaginative, polished, and deeply intentional.
Guests left energized by the evening, noting the quality of the service, the attention to detail, and the overall sense of occasion. The client was equally pleased, recognizing our team’s logistical precision, industry relationships, professionalism, and care throughout.
